Dan and Rachel: Part Deux

Rachel and Dan are officially our "Guinea Pig" with our new digital album we are offering. This is something completely cool to have if you don't have the $500+ to spend on a coffee table album for yourself or your parents. Just take a look at see how cool this is- and remember to listen to it as well!

What a great way to keep friends and family from getting a hold of your album with their sticky little fingers! This is also a great keepsake for your parents and siblings in place of or in addition to a formal wedding album. Using the same software as MTV, we will choose your photos (up to 100) and design a unique slideshow which will be set to the beat of your chosen song (please note that the song chosen for this slideshow was chosen by me-I just dig the beat) and burned on a high resolution DVD. The quality on here certainly doesn't do this justice- it looks just stunning on my 65 inch flat screen! The DVD comes in a leatherette album and boxed with a ribbon for gift giving! Best of all, you do no need to choose this option until after the wedding- just let us know before we finish your proof book/album/DVD’s how many you like and they will be mailed to you with your finished product!

$100 first copy, $25 each additional copy (each copy in leatherette album and boxed)

Rachel and Dan: Part Une

Oh goodness- where do I begin? I feel as I could write a novel about these two.....
First off, I think this will be my first blog post ever about a wedding that hasn't any photos contained within it. There is a reason for this though, which is why this post is called "Part Une."
When I initially met with Rachel and Dan, I knew right off the bat we would get along perfectly. Countless email after another, Rachel always came up with new and endearing terms for me, and I for her. These consist of some raunchy titles, so of course I cannot express them on here- but I seriously love it, and I now have new crazy names to call people that I love so dearly :) OK, now on to the big day.............
I started off the day at the hotel where Rachel was getting ready. One of my assistants, Kristal came with me on this day because just 3 days before the wedding, I had some pretty big deal surgery. I couldn't get up and down very well and was using a fancy schmancy cane, so Kristal came along to get some shots i just couldn't get. When we arrived at the hotel room, of course Rachel looked magnificent getting her makeup done, and i had some fun getting detail shots as she finished up her face.
I was giddy when she put her dress on- she looked like the friggin' Statue of Liberty- she picked a PERFECT dress that was stunning on her.
After the hotel, we (Kristal and I) headed over to the chapel at Greenmead where the ceremony was to take place. Here, the guys were waiting for us and I immediately started the photo taking.
Once the ladies arrived, I realized something important- the mud. It was muddy everywhere- like the thick rocky cookie batter type mud and I was worried about the girls and their heels in the gooey mess. Rachel was definitely a good sport about it- hey, what can be done about Mother Nature, right? She didn't really care one bit as I strategically placed her in a grassy, less mud area for her to see Dan for the first time.
After a few clicks of the camera we got Rachel inside the chapel and hidden while the guests arrived.
The ceremony was short and sweet- as a matter of fact, it reminded me pretty much exactly of my own. Afterwards, we took the must needed family group photos at the altar.
Now came the trickiest part- avoiding that mud mess. Greenmead is a great place for photos- cool historical buildings with some fantastic lighting options. I had the bridal party get into the limo and follow me around to the back part of the park, where I tried to find spots where the mud was less abundant. At one point, I actually was very stuck in the mud and almost had to get someone to help get me out- luckily I just acted as if I was stuck in snow and my all wheel drive pulled thru!
After Greenmead, we headed over to downtown Northville for some "urban" photos. We all couldn't believe the traffic out that day- it was crazy just trying to get some shots in the middle of the road!
Next on the agenda was the reception at Joy Manor. I really like this place, and always have. As a matter of fact, my Associate photographer Jennifer, had her own wedding reception at Joy Manor. The food is always very good, and staff always pleasant. I also like that they don't shove a ton of people into a room and there is no where to walk. Many very well known reception halls are known for this- they will say "Oh, it can fit 220." Yeah right. It can actually fit 175 if you would like to be able to walk around even just a little bit. Joy Manor never plays these games and every time I am shooting a wedding there, there is always ample room.
Dan and Rachel had a band instead of a DJ for their entertainment, and let me tell you- they were fabulous! If you are ever looking for a professional yet fun band to have at your reception (and provide ceremony music!) Definitely think about hiring Cruzin' Jupiter.
Everything went off without a hitch for their wedding, and I seriously couldn't have been happier to be a part of it. Plus, Rachel is one of my avid blog "commenter" so this blog post is totally well deserved!
Some other cool things at the wedding were Rock the Booth (photo booths are always a fun time) and the cool hot mamas that Rachel sat us with. I was lucky that I was sitting with some of the coolest chicks ever for dinner! I am definitely a talker (did you ever doubt that?) and anyone that will talk right back is totally awesome in my book.

Thank you both again for EVERYTHING- including my tasty gift! Dirty UPS hid them on me!!!!!!!!!!! I love you both a ton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!xoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxo

Moriah's style is very urban contemporary- she just loves the unique look of graffiti and other random things in the background- I LOVED this photo shoot!

Angela and Anthony

This was definitely one of those days I was anxiously awaiting..............
Anthony and Angie are one of those crazy awesome couples to work with, and my day was made so much easier for many factors.

#1. Angie didn't mind trampling thru the snow to get the best shots possible
#2. Anthony went to school for photography so he trusted my every whim and instinct
#3. Angie's Chuck Taylor's
#4. Angie and Anthony both were willing to sit in the middle of a busy road on train tracks
#5. One of my favorite videographer teams was working- Joe and Kris from Yesterday's Memories
#6. MY own wedding DJ was the DJ
#7. They had PBR on tap for their guests to enjoy- something you do not see

I started of the day at the church in Chelsea where everyone was getting ready, and Angie and Anthony exchanged their heartfelt gifts to each other- some great photo ops here. Anyone that knows Angie can attest to the faces she makes and it is a great thing to witness AND capture!
I took the boys outside ahead of time to get their photos complete before the ceremony to give us a bit more time after for the park photos.
After the ceremony and all of the traditinal altar photos, just the 5 of us (Videographers, Bride, Groom, Me)headed over to a nearby park for some photos of the sun setting. I was so friggin' excited about the lighting that I used some very informative words to exude how thrilled I was (Anthony, I know you are reading this and totally remember my expression as we got out of our cars.) After the park, we headed to downtown Chelsea, right near the reception location for more outdoor photos. Let me tell you, words can't even describe how cold it was- but we were all geeked at the photos ops.
Back at the reception, I did a little fixin' per Angie's request to the cake, and on the night went, without a hitch.

Congrats you guys- you left me with a TON of memories I will never forget!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxo

Carey and Jason

Yep, you guessed it- another crazy snowy day!
On this day for Carey and Jason's wedding, it was snowing like mad! Luckily, I had a crazy cool couple who didn't mind it at all; in fact, they didn't even mind walking around it in for photos- whew- you made my day of photography completely fabulous!
I started the day off at Carey's parents house where she was getting ready. There, the videographer and I set up some cool detail shots and other fun things. From there, we headed over to the church- the AMAZING Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This church is absolutely gorgeous- I get all giddy inside every time I get to work there!
After the ceremony, we all headed to the old train station across from the old Tiger Stadium for photos. Carey and Jason wanted some unique photos, and not something you see often in couples albums- well, I think we achieved that! The train station although derelict in its state, is one of the most beautiful backdrops for any photos, in my humble opinion. The bride and groom both looked stunning in front of it!
The reception, held at Glen Oaks in Farmington Hills, is where we took our next set of photographs. At first, I just took Carey and Jason out back by the bridge for photos while the bridal party stayed warm and cozy inside the hall.
What could of made this amazing day even more amazing? The presence of one of the best wedding coordinators around- Ana from Twofoot Creative. She seriously takes ANY worries I have about time constraints or even happenings on time out of the way- in her hands you are as good as gold!

Congrats Jason and Carey! You two photograph together magically! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Jacqueline and Mike

Boy did it snow on this day! Nothing like some fresh fallen snow on Valentines Day!
I knew from the start that this day would be exciting and fabulous!
I started the day off at the home of the bride and groom, where Jacqueline was getting ready. They had some great windows in their house for some great shots of her getting dressed. Add on top of that some cute little photogenic girls as flower girls and you got yourself a great beginning for a great day!
After the house, I scooted on over to the church in Milford for the ceremony. Before the ceremony actually began, I took Mike and his groomsmen outside for their photos. Mike is so funny he cracks me up- always coming with backgrounds and ways to take a photograph!
We were able to complete some family photographs before the ceremony as well without the two seeing each other ahead of time- this helped give us more time after the fact for photos.
After the formal family photos were finished, we hightailed it out to the photo locations that Mike had in mind- and he did a great job! I also have to commend the limo driver who was not only a bundle of humor (photographers often work with the same limo drivers over and over again)but I seriously couldn't believe with the snow and all of the twists and turns hoe well he maneuvered his way around!
After the photo locations, we headed over to Laurel Manor for the reception. At this point I have to give some mad props to their live entertainment- "The Vintage" band for a wonderful job! What a fun and amazing time was had by all!

Congrats you lovebirds! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

Carol and Mike

Ah, what a glorious January day!
It was cold, but the sky was was beautiful!
Carol and Mike's wedding day was fab- a great couple, fun and easy going. It couldn't get any better- I was work with my beloved Kristyn from Castle Video!
We both started the day off at Carol's home where she was getting dressed. As always, we took shots of the details- the dress, shoes, jewelry, etc... I have to admit that I am always in fascination of what accessories and details a bride decides to use. For instance, when a bride picks out a corset type dress back, it really says alot about her style, the stuff she really likes. I especially love photographing details because many times certain items are family heirlooms or just important pieces that hold much love and comfort.
After we left the house, we headed straight over to the church. This is where I met Mike for the first time- and I let him know about my personality right off of the bat. Within 5 minutes he responded that we were going to get along just fine....
After the ceremony we took care of the usual formal family photos at the alter. Outside we had a sweet amount of snow so we were able to get a complete winter look for the photos!
The reception was help at the new Palazzo Grande. I was excited to work at this hall-it is not often that you get to be a part of a brand new reception location- it was exciting! The hall is gorgeous and the food was amazing. The funnest part of the night you ask? The fun drunk family members were a blast to chat with!

Congrats you guys! xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxox
